Squale brings back an icon from the 1960s and 1970s into its continuous collection: the Reference 2001. Originally designed to accompany great freedivers in their dives into the "Grand Bleu," it is now worn by the indomitable spirits of sea explorers. While staying true to the original, the new Reference 2001 introduces modern materials and technologies. The 316L stainless steel case with hidden lugs preserves the historical proportions, while the bezel, now featuring a sapphire glass insert, offers increased durability. The sophisticated "push to release" system ensures safety and reliability, protecting the bezel from accidental impacts. The dial features refined details, with polished steel indexes coated in SuperLuminova C3 for optimal readability. The date window at 3 o’clock and the "Saphir" inscription at 6 o’clock highlight its protection up to 600 meters deep. The movement is now entrusted to the Sellita SW 200-1 Elaboré, a high-precision automatic caliber with a frequency of 28,800 A/h. The new Reference 2001 maintains the distinctive character of the original while incorporating exclusive details. The 316L stainless steel bracelet with skeletonized links, a tribute to the golden age of dive watchmaking, completes the design with a touch of authenticity.
